Our training boat, Starlight, is a four cabin / two heads, sloop Dufour 453 Classic. Starlight is very a nicely designed, fast and well-maintained vessel which has been operating successfully as the training boat of Fair Winds Sailing Greece for the past 6 years.
More than 500 American Sailing certifications has been provided on board. Her big wheel in combination with her two brand new Quantum sails (main and genoa) provide a great sailing performance and make her an excellent training boat.
Starlight is equipped with all the required by the Greek Coastguard systems / sensors. Her electronic equipment includes two GPS systems, an AIS, a VHF - DSC transceiver, a windmeter, an autopilot and a depth sounder.
Also, her safety equipment complies with all the Greek / European safety regulations and, among others, includes life-jackets, safety harnesses, horse shoe buoys with floating light, flares, an Emergency Position-Indicating Radiobeacon (EPIRB), a Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) and a Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS life raft.
Starlight has been inspected by naval engineers of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) who have provided a relevant certification as a proof of her seaworthiness.
